How about a Fireside Chat –
A Group of patients, survivors, caregivers, family and friends talking about the impact Cancer has impacted those around them.
UPDATE:
We had our first Fireside Chat on Wednesday, June 5th. In attendance we had a patient, 2 survivors, caregiver, family/friend/, and retired oncology nurse. We had great discussion on each of their unique experiences. We talked about what they needed and got; and what they didn’t need but got anyway. They all thought that this type of forum could help others.
They unanimously wanted to schedule another. Our next Zoom meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 15th @ 6:30 https://us02web.zoom.us/j/5664309012
To make it easy to get in without any trouble, put the zoom app on your phone, desktop, or Ipad. The meeting link is highlighted above. Please join us and share with others you may think would benefit.
What it is………………………
If there is interest, I am looking at the possibility of having a series of round table discussions for Survivors, caregivers, friends of both to share their experiences, frustrations, and suggestions. Hopefully this could help someone else going through what you or a family member or caretaker has or is going through.
I am looking for volunteers to share their experiences in the hopes of helping someone else. It will be done via zoom.
What do I hope to achieve by doing this? Creating an awareness through other experiences and giving a survivor or caretaker a platform to talk with others. It is as much a learning for those who don’t have Cancer or are caring for someone to understand your journey and what you needed from others.
What it won’t become, is conversations that will be sent out on social media. It won’t continue if it feels intrusive in anyway. If the interest is there, it could become a podcast where people have a round table discussion with coffee, wine, beer, or just water and an occasional guest expert. If there is interest, please let me know.
I am not a counselor, therapist, or Dr. just someone that would like to take any opportunity to help someone going through this. Let me know your thoughts.
